On September 9, 1918, Albert registered for the draft for WWI. He was living with his mother at 323 N. 18th St. in Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas. He was a truck driver for Kansas State Agricultural College. Albert is described as of medium height and build, with brown hair and brown eyes.

On Marcy 25, 1920, Albert married Clatie E. Alexander in Jackson County, Missouri. I believe they were married in Independence.

The couple had one child, a son they named Francis. Francis was born on April 23, 1921.
