Notes:

Mary was the daughter of John Dihle and Sarah Irwin. The 1900 Census lists Mary and her mother living in Cumberland Co., PA. Mary listed her occupation as a winder in a silk mill. Her mother was working in a shoe factory. Mary's father is not listed. She married Adolph Gustave Obenland in Philadelphia, PA in 1908. (Certificate #231606) The couple had three children, Adolph Carl (or Carl Adolph), George Russell and Alma. George died when he was 7 years old of tetanus. Alma never married. Adolph Carl married Helen Neil. In the early days of their marriage, Mary and Adolph lived in Philadelphia, PA. Adolph worked as a real estate agent while Mary kept house. Sometime between 1918 and 1920, the family moved to Franklin Co., OH. In the 1920 Census, they were living in Columbus, OH. Adolph was now a drug salesman and Mary was working as a stenographer at a varnish company. By 1930, they were living at 760 S. Remington Rd, in Bexley, Ohio. also in Franklin Co. They owned their home, which had a value of $9,000 at that time. Adolph still earned his living as a drug salesman and Mary worked as an accountant for a candy company. Mary and her husband were both living in Dade County, FL at the time of their deaths. Adolph died in 1961 and Mary died on Nov. 18, 1962. She was laid to rest next to her husband on Nov. 24, 1962. Carl was the son of Adolph Obenland and his wife, Mary M. Dihle. Adolph was a German immigrant, coming to the United States at the age of 8 from Wurttemburg, Germany. Carl had one brother, George Russell, who died when he was 7 years old from tetanus. He also had a sister, Alma. The 1930 Census shows that Carl was living with his parents at 760 S. Remington Rd, Bexley, Ohio. Carl was 20 years old and single. He was working as a traffic clerk at a parking company. Carl first married Margaret Roan in about 1939. They had two children, Carl Thomas and Kathleen. After Margaret died in 1948, Carl married Helen Neil. The marriage took place on June 18, 1949 in Conneaut, Ohio. Carl passed away on April 20, 1967 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. (Ohio death certificate 27295.)

Carl married Helen Neil 18 Jun 1949, Conneaut, Ashtabula County, Ohio, USA. Helen (daughter of Clarence Blain Neil and Dora Ethel Calkins) was born 28 Feb 1918, USA; died 13 Nov 2000, Novato, Marin County, California, USA; was buried Nov 2000, Mayfield Heights, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, USA. Notes:

George was the son of Adolph and Mary M. Dihle Obenland. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sept. 4, 1916. The family later moved to Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio. George had just celebrated his 7th birthday when he passed away. His death certificate states that he died from tetanus resulting from a cut on his ankle he got while playing outside.
