Elaine D. Henry, age 85, of Mankato, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Mankato Lutheran Home. The memorial service was at Hilltop United Methodist Church with the Reverend Randy Koppen officiating. Burial was in Woodland Hills Memorial Park.
Elaine was born October 27, 1922, in Mankato to Henry and Jessi (née Pittman) Buckhaus. She married Everett C. Henry July 6, 1941, in Lake Crystal.
Her career included employment at Piggly Wiggly, Madsen's Super Valu, Midtex, and Johnson Fishing. She enjoyed camping, fishing, church activities, collecting earrings, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Hilltop United Methodist Church and VFW Post 950.
Mrs. Henry was survived by two sons: Darryl Henry, of Hanford, CA, and Warren Henry, of Los Lunas, NM; three daughters: Sharon (Robert) Marquardt, Linda (Leon) Salfer, and Jillene (Dean) Salfer--all of Mankato; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Simmett, of Plymouth.
Preceding her in passing were her parents; and her husband in 1999.
