      Oct 3, 1896- Obit. Mrs. Minnie Obenland, wife of C. Obenland, September 26, 1896, age 25. mrs. Obenland was born in Germany. She came to the states with her parents as a small child and settled in Illinois. She came to this county in 1891 and made her home with her uncle, Henry Krouse....She had recently visited Miline, Illinois in the hopes of regaining her health.

      Nov. 23, 1901- Died, E. G. Obenland, in Lewiston, Tuesday, father of C. Obenland...E.G. had been visiting his daughter, Mrs. W.A Schuck (sic) ...He was born in Germany, October 2, 1841. At the age of 33 (this is probably wrong, as the first child, according to the census, was born in Ill ca 1871. E.A.) he came to the United States, settling in Illinois...to Pomeroy in 1881. His wife died fourteen years ago. He leaves three sons, three daughters, viz: C., G.F and A.E. of Pomeroy, Mrs. W.A Schuck (sic) of White Bird, Idaho, Miss Bertha Obenland of Pomeroy and Miss Nannie Obenland of Tacoma."
