    There is a discrepancy in this man's birth date. His birth record and death record says he was born on 16 Sep 1878. However, his marriage record and both of his draft registration cards say he was born on October 26, 1881. At first I thought this was two different men, but when I started putting all the facts together, I came to the conclusion that they are the same man. James with the birth date in September was married to a lady named Pansy. So was the James with the birth date in October. Both Pansy's were born in Indiana on 26 Nov 1886. Census records also show that both James's lived for a time in Windham County, Vermont. Both were born in Boston, Massachusetts. The parents' places of birth are the same. The father's names are the same.

    Another discrepancy: the death date on his gravestone and consequently on his Find A Grave Memorial says he died on 23 Mar 1950. However, his North Carolina death certificate states he died on the 22nd and was buried on the 23rd.
