    He is also survived by brothers, Larry and Joseph Lamping, 18 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

    His daughter, Peggy Lamping, and brother, Richard Lamping, preceded him in death.

    James was born July 20, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Lawrence and Gertrude Lamping. James owned and operated Ray Brothers Cleaners.

    He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and a 3rd degree charter member of the Knights of Columbus #3660, of which he held various offices. James volunteered much of his time to charities such as Meals on Wheels and delivering Thanksgiving Day dinners.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Name or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
