Visitation for Kathleen Marie "Kay" (Gies) Obenland, 58, will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Colbert. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Obenland, who was born in St. Ignatius, Montana, died Monday.

She graduated from high schol in St. Ignatius and from Kinman Business College in Spokane.

In 1963 she married Richard Obenland, and they moved to Spokane in 1974.

Mrs. Obenland worked as a supervisor for the Spokane County Auditor's Office for 27 years. She retired in January, 2000.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Steven Obenland of Spokane; a daughter, Christine Harbison of Newman Lake; seven brothers, JOhn Gies of Mead, James Gies of Colville, Washington; Daniel Gies of Missoula, William Gies of San Francisco, Stanley Gies of Winnemucca, Nevada, Charles Gies of Minden, Nebraska, and Rayond Gies of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,: four sisters, Jeannie Swanson of Spokane, Linda Gies of Arlee, Montana, Mary Gies of Missoula and Shirley Tennison of Kearny, Arizona; four grandchildren.
