His mother Katie's first name is probably Katherine. Her maiden name is unknown at this time. Stephen had one brother, John (1900-1971), and three sisters. They were: Mary, 1902-2001); Josephine, aka Josie, (1905-1998); and Katherine, aka Katie, (1898-1997). All of Andrew and Katie's children were born in Wyoming. On ancestry.com, the 1900 Federal Census lists Alexander and Katie's family's name as "Anglia". They were living at 452 East Flat, Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming. Alex was born in March of 1880 in Austria, as was both of his parents. He and his wife Katie had only been married for one year in 1900. Katie was born in November, 1881, also in Austria. Her parents were also born in Austria. Alex was a coal miner. He once told his children that he worked for a dollar a day. In this census, Alexander says he immigrated in 1896. Katie immigrated in 1898. The 1910 Census has the family living at 306 6th St., also in Rock Springs, Wyoming. This census states that Alexander immigranted in 1895 and Katie in 1900. At this time Katie had had 5 children, with all of them living. Stephen met Cecilia Anna McGrath on a blind date. They were married in Pomeroy, Garfield Co., Washington in 1938. Stephen was the first college graduate in his family.
