    Enlisted in the US Army on August 29, 1942 in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Served in WWII and was assigned to the 850th Bomb Squadron, 490th Bombardment Group.

    George was among the crew of a B-17 G shot down over Germany. 19/4/45 He died along with the following crew members: Pilot: Paul Snyder, Ross Stewart, Bill Welson, Joe Trojanowski, Lyle Doole, Wayne Stauffer, Bill Suemsky, Dick Phillips, Wilbur Leme. A total of 10 men were killed in action; "jet Enemy aircraft" reads the official report, crashed Schonau, Ger.
