  • Notes
    • On December 16, 1790, a marriage license was issued to Francis Lee and Elizabeth Bache, in Pennsylvania, probably in Philadelphia. The Pennsylvania Mercury issue of December 24, 1790, announced the marriage of Francis Lee of Chester County, to Mrs. Beach, of Philadelphia. The marriage took place the day after the license was issued. From these two sources, we can say that this lady's first name was Elizabeth. Her maiden name is a different story. We know that the lady named Bache and Mrs. Beach are the same person.

The "Genealogy of the Cloyd, Basye and Tapp Familiews in America" by A. D. Cloyd, MD, published in 1912 states that her last name was Boyd.
