- [S92] 500 Years of Obenland Family, Unknown, (Name: Name: Unknown; Location: Ilsfeld, Heilbronn, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany;;), German newspaper, name unknown. Translated by David M. Obenland of California. Received from same.
A portion of the text is: From "500 Year Chronicle of the Obenland Family," (translated by David M. Obenland): "There were difficulties in showing that the Oppenlender of the origin was connected with the Obenland in Ilsfeld that was found there in 1613. But then records were found which showed that a Moritz was registered for the draft in Backnanger Amt in 1597. The fact that he was registered at this locality means that he lived there. A Moritz was also registered for the draft in 1608 in Ilsfeld. Both of these Moritz are identical because there were no others with the same name. The serfdom book of 1630 shows full proof that the Obenlands in Ilsfeld come from Backnanger Amt. The emmigration of Moritz I to Ilsfeld happened between 1597 and 1608. Because he is not in the Backnag draft listing of 1592 he was not yet 17 years old, an age he evidently reached between 1592 and 1597. In 1597 he was between 18 and 23 years old, indicating that he must have ben born between 1574 and 1579. Judging from his age, he obviously married into Ilsfeld. The Moritz who is mentioned in the Ilsfeld serfdom book of 1630 is single and of age and had to be, therefore, the son of Moritz I, who was already dead in 1630. He is mentioned in 1613 and he died, therefore, between 1614 and 1630." Amt means County
